Too close to the subject but...

this is based on a true story! When I wrote this book in March of 2021, I had vivid images in mind for each page. After a family tragedy, I found it difficult to move forward with the illustrations. Now that I've had time to refocus my energy, I've had to revisit each page to remember how the drawings told the story. I didn't intend for the characters to be as realistic as they're turning out to be. I am happy with the direction this project has taken, though! I can't wait to share more.
